Marketplace Leaders

Posted by ljoh3106 on October 13, 2006

The Marketplace Leaders ministry of Os Hillman exists to help men and women to fulfill God’s call on their lives by understanding the role faith plays in their workplace calling.

The ministry goals are described as: to bring revival in the workplace, to help business people see their work as their calling and ministry, to engage more workplace Christians in the ‘work of the ministry’, and to see the power of God manifested in the workplace.

Toward these goals, their website is full of useful resources and they publish a daily devotional called ‘Today God is First’ or TGIF. I encourage everyone in the workplace to see it as one of their ministries. Its not always easy. The resources and devotionals provided by Marketplace Leaders can help. Click on the Faith @ Work link on the right sidebar to go to their website and subscribe to the daily TGIF devotional.

Local foster child needs a tutor

Posted by ljoh3106 on October 12, 2006

Cory C. is a special little guy who entered CPS custody at the age of 2. Cory is now 11 years old and remains in CPS custody. He is currently residing in a group home in Chandler. He has been bounced from countless schools and as a result is academically delayed. Although he is in the 6th grade, he currently reads at a 1st grade level. His mentor contacted me yesterday and told me that she took him to McDonalds over the weekend. He was unable to read the menu and told her that all of the other children tell him he’s stupid because he cannot read. Such a basic skill that we take for granted. I am seeking a reading and math tutor for this special little guy to get him up to speed and increase his confidence. If you know of anyone that may be willing to assist, please have them contact me as soon as possible. Call Mandi at AASK, office: 602.930.4472 or cell: 602.741.2633

Welcome to PAHC 2.0

Posted by ljoh3106 on October 2, 2006

Welcome to the new website for the Phoenix Area House Churches, version 2.0 following the idea that it is now interactive and allows posts and comments.

Let me just call your attention to some of the things on this first page. Note the meebo chat window which allows real time messenging to me, your webmaster. I am online most every day although this week I will be in training and online only in the evening.

Underneath meebo is a link to the Google calendar for the Phoenix Area House Churches. I will keep this updated with anything announced for the local churches and for anything of interest to the churches nationally.

On the right is a list of blogs of interest, note especially those of some of our area house church leaders.

Then there is the link to subscribe to the newsletter and a list of some of our sponsors. If you are looking to buy any computer software or hardware, try Buy.com. I have used them for years and have never had a bad experience ordering from them. If you are planning a trip, book your tickets through the link for Priceline. Or course, always try Christianbook.com for books and study materials. And thats all I’m going to say about this. I will update those links periodically.
Posts, announcements, and comments are welcome and encouraged. Lets make it the connecting place we need for staying in touch between our city-wide gatherings.
