Mission & Vision
The mission of the Phoenix Area House Churches website is to network Phoenix and Central Arizona house churches with one another for the purposes of mutual encouragement, service, and outreach.
Through repentance, loving our neighbors, and making disciples, our goal is to see organic networks of churches throughout the Phoenix and the State of Arizona.
Our vision is to see the house churches of Phoenix partnering in:
Planting new communities of house churches.
Living as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
Uniting together for worship, fellowship, and encouragement.
Sharing their gifts and resources to help the needy, inside and outside the church.

Our church believes that WE are the church (body of Christ). We only meet in a building for ease of fellowship. We believe in the priesthood of the believers. We allow freedom of the Holy Spirit. In the NT, God appointed deacons and elders to lead/shepherd the sheep.
I don’t see how lay persons can be their own leaders. It’s kind of like spiritual anarchy-?
Hmmm…

In the house church, there are leaders. They are usually believers who are mature in their faith and recognized, not appointed, as a leader. They do not get paid but serve as a pastor, teacher, or evangelist.
It sounds like you attend a good NT teaching church. The argument about anarchy is an old one and most probably occurs in some cases. But on the other hand, there are a lot of institutional churches that go far in the other direction, with a pastor so controlling that he closes the Holy Spirit out completely.
Our meetings are around the Lord’s Table, which is a complete meal, in the pattern of the early 1st century church meetings. We sing, pray, fellowship, teach and do most everything the institutional church does, only without a paid leader. You should visit one in your area to see how church is ‘done’ in a home setting. God bless. Larry

How can I add my home church to your network.

Ed,
Unfortunately, there is no automated way to do this. But just send me an email with the closest cross streets to where you meet (for the map) and any other information you would like me to include on a webpage (if you don’t have one) for your house church.

Dear Church family,
There is a web site you can submit your information and be connected to the world wide home church movement. This site is also developing but you are welcome to join. Please visit: http://www.homefellowship.net/index.html
This organic ground swell of believers is excited and bound by the Holy Spirit of the Living God. He is our Shepard and He guides us in a similar fashion experienced by the church Jesus established upon His ascension into Heaven and sending of His Holy Spiirt.
